service to
the community
Saint Francis Xavier School is known for service provided to the community of Saint Joseph. Our students dedicate hundreds of hours per year to helping in the community through a number of different activities. Some of these are: serving food to the homeless and needy at the Open Door Food Kitchen, providing warm clothing and blankets to the Salvation Army or men's shelters, providing hundreds of pounds of food to our own House of Bread food pantry, and Catholic CHarities and raising funds for organizations such as the Noyes Home for Children, Heifer International and Promised Land Academy in Liberia.
As a Catholic school it is in our nature to serve and help those in need. Not only are students in each classroom inspired to help their neighbor, but two specific groups of student leaders find ways to go above and beyond in service. The Student Council, made up of leaders from grades four through eight, engage in numerous service projects and have raised over $50,000 over the past fifteen years. These leaders choose which local, national and international causes to support and bring to the attention of fellow schoolmates.
